AIU Masters in Education Programs

There are four online Master of Education Programs offered through AIU. They are Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Assessment and Evaluation, Instructional Technology, and Leadership of Educational Organizations.
The Master of Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction is created for educators who want to be at the forefront of education by using techniques that will motivate and engage learners. The curriculum focuses on helping students develop a solid foundation of knowledge in learning theory, instructional design, as well as the application of educational research methods. This program can be completed in as little as 10 months. This program is not designed to meet state educator licensing requirements. There are eight required courses. The concentration courses include Principles of Curriculum Improvement, Designing Effective Courses, and Decision Making in Curriculum and Instruction. The core courses include Analysis, Assessment, and Technology, Educational Research Methods, Principals of Instructional Design, Applying Learning Theories, and Curriculum Design and Evaluation.
The Educational Assessment and Evaluation concentration is a career-focused curriculum which is for professionals who want to build their credentials by learning to assess the existing evaluation systems of organizations, recognize and critique valid evaluation instruments, as well as be able to manage an organization’s evaluations system and certification program. Students who complete this program successfully will have the knowledge to pursue careers such as Assistant Principal, Exam Developer, Social Services Manager, Instructional Designer, and Training Officer. This degree through AIU can be completed in as short of a time as only 10 months. Required courses include concentration courses of Educational Assessment and Evaluation Systems, Methods and Instruments for Assessment, and Using Evaluation Results. Core courses include Analysis, Assessment and Technology, Educational Research Methods, Principals of Instructional Design, Applying Learning Theories, and Curriculum Design and Evaluation.
The Master of Education with a concentration in Instructional Technology is a good degree in today’s world because technology plays such an important role in the way that we teach and the way that the real world works. Concentration courses include Instructional Technology, Computer Mediated Learning Environments, and Online Learning: Theory and Practice. Core courses include Analysis, Assessment, and Technology, Educational Research Methods, Principals of Instructional Design, Applying Learning Theories, and Curriculum Design and Evaluation.
